All of us have had traumatic experiences of one sort of another. We may have suffered grief and loss, or trauma or we may have experienced transitions. We usually manage to find ways to get through these experiences. And yet sometimes we can be left feeling anxious, or discover we are asking too much of ourselves, our partners and families, or our workplace. When that happens, it can pay to seek the help of a professional to ease the burden.
Dr Miriam Grossbaum’s Doctoral thesis explored the processes we use to negotiate severe life challenges. She enjoys working with clients to help them to find their own voice, so they can discover and draw on their own courage and resilience.
Miriam uses various practices with clients, such as cognitive and solution-focused methods, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy and positive psychology approaches. Her many years as an educator and facilitator of self-development workshops further enrich her approach to helping with the difficulties that people are struggling with.
